DON ON THE ISSUES
I’m proud that Centennial is one of the safest cities in Colorado. My top priority is the safety of our neighborhoods, schools, and businesses. I will work closely with our first responders, supporting their efforts to recruit the best people, maintain high levels of certification and accreditation, and invest in the resources needed to keep our community safe. I’m proud to be endorsed by the FOP Lodge 31, representing over 550 diverse members of the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, the 18th Judicial Attorney’s Office, and South Metro Fire and Rescue, reflecting their confidence in my proven leadership for a safe Centennial.

Our citizens are highly educated and have above-average incomes. Centennial attracts businesses that provide high-quality jobs and solid careers. Our school districts rank among the best in the state, and our secondary schools are plentiful. Centennial’s children enjoy excellent educational opportunities and exceptional career prospects. With over 97% of households connected to broadband, Centennial surpasses national and state averages for high-speed internet connectivity, much of which is supported by the city’s robust digital infrastructure. I will continue to support technological advancements, strong economic development, and educational opportunities for today’s workers and tomorrow’s students.

Centennial was incorporated in response to aggressive annexation by surrounding cities. The citizens of Centennial want to control their destiny through home rule, which grants local governments the authority to create local laws for local matters. Increasingly, the state legislature attempts to erode our home rule. Two years ago, the state legislature tried to override city zoning, allowing your neighbor to build an apartment building where their single-family home once stood. A neighboring city council attempted this in January. As mayor, I will defend our local control and pledge to safeguard your neighborhood’s character.
